Let me go home, I’m just too far from where you are, I wanna come home

I left on Thursday for North Carolina. Joe and the rest of the guys were coming home from Afghanistan! They were suppose to come home Friday morning at 4am. However, their flight got delayed and canceled and were not able to come in until Saturday morning. This built up a little more anxiety, but gave us plenty of time to get our "to do" lists done. (Yes, I made April give me a list also!) I got to Jacksonville around 5:00 on Thursday. April and I went to dinner and then Liz joined us to go and pick Em up from the airport. Friday we got up and went to lunch and spent the rest of the day running errands. Then we got home and started to get ready for the boys arrival.

Once it got closer to time, Jenn and Jackie came over so that we could all follow each other on base. We decided to get hyped up and we hung out in the kitchen and did a little dancing! During our party in the kitchen, Jackie got a text from her husband saying that their plane had landed. We all started to run out the door! We were very excited! So excited, in fact, that we didn't even think about the fact that we were going to have to wait at the gym and in the cold for about 4 hours!

Me petting Sadie! This is a HUGE deal! She loves me now!

We helped decorate the gym with balloons to help pass the time. It was too cold to stand outside the whole time. After the plane landed, they had to ride in charter buses for about 45 minutes. Then they had to go to the armory to check in their weapons. This was VERY frustrating because we could see their buses at the armory. They were within walking distance and we had to wait until ALL 3 charter buses full of soldiers had all their weapons checked in before the buses would head our way!

So excited it is almost time!

Saturday night we got things back to normal. When I go to NC, I always take SingStar with me! So, naturally we broke it out Saturday night for a little fun!
