Honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico

Jack and I decided to wait until the end of June to go on our honeymoon. This way we were able to get settled in our summer jobs before we left for a week. We started out our trip in Atlanta, Georgia. We met up with his dad, Uncle Gary, Aunt Rhonda, and his cousins Will and Taylor. We went to the Braves/Yankees game. I was really excited because I wanted to go to New York for our honeymoon and go to a Yankees game, but Jack wanted to go somewhere tropical. So, we were able to combine both of our wants! It was a lot of fun. I had a hard time at the game though. I love both teams, but I am a bigger Yankee fan. The reason it was the hard was because Tim Hudson was pitching, and he is my favorite pitcher! It poured on us most of the night, but it was still amazing. We stayed in a hotel in Atlanta. Then we got on a plane the next morning to head to Mexico.

We landed in Cancun, Mexico and got on a van for an hour and a half ride to Tulum. We stayed at the Dreams Resort. It was a gorgeous place to stay. Our room was amazing and the staff was really friendly. Our days went like this: wake up, reserve a seat by the pool (except 1 day we went to the beach), eat breakfast, lay out by the pool, eat lunch, go back to the pool, head to the room to shower and get ready, go to dinner, enjoy the show for the night, and head to bed to get ready to start all over again the next day. The resort was all inclusive. The food was AMAZING!! Jack was able to try a lot of food he typically wouldn't try. His favorite though was the pablano soup. I had a few favorites. The restaurants did make me fall in love with guacamole. :) The one thing we did not like about the resort was how close the "family" pool and the "adult" pool were. The adult pool was suppose to be relaxing and kid free, but that wasn't always the case. The family pool had a swim up bar. Therefore a lot of the families brought their kids over to the relaxing pool. (We met 2 couples from Texas that were a lot of fun and had the same feelings regarding this and many other things in life.) I did, however, enjoy how the resort had something fun going on every night. They had an American Idol night, Capoeira show, Mayan show, movie nights on the beach, Final Four on the beach, a fire show, and live music every night. We fully enjoyed ourselves and hated to return back to reality. Dreams is a resort we would visit again.
